A big blank blog

So here goes my very first blog. Deep breath...... it's big and scarey and I'm bound to get loads wrong, I'm generally hopeless with anything technical so please bear with me.
It seems appropriate to start my blog at such an important time of the year. I'm referring of course to the time when us countrymice store away our wellies and replace them with flip flops, or at least that's what I do. Spring seems to have finally arrived, the cherry blossom is about to burst and the garden is growing again after weeks of being under snow. The veg plot is slowly coming to life and the polytunnel is filling up fast! Even the bees in my better halfs hive are enjoying the sunny weather, furiously flying back and forth collecting pollen from the broom and forsythia.
Lately I've been finding it very difficult to be excited about all that the country life has to offer but frequent visits to town seem to be redressing the balance for me. I've just had a very busy weekend of complete contrasts that actually sum up my ideal life. On Saturday I ran a paunch & skin a rabbit day course at Acton Scott Victorian Farm, as part of a series of day courses that I run there using my smallholding experience. On Sunday I was in London, soaking up the atmosphere and the buzzing energy that I get from being amongst crowds of people, cheering on my eldest in his first London marathon.
That's enough for now, the polytunnel needs watering and the hens need to be shut away.
